The Group Practice is a family medical practice based in Stornoway, Isle of Lewis and Habost, Ness, Isle of Lewis.

We are a GP Training Practice with a Practice Area covering the whole of the Island and work closely with NHS Western Isles to provide the full complement of General Medical Services for patients registered with us.

Many of our clinics are nurse led and include:

  • Heart Disease
  • Stroke & TIA
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Immunisation (adult)
  • Cervical smear
  • Well man
  • Treatment Room
  • Asthma Clinic
  • Diabetes Clinic
  • Immunisation (child)
  • Leg Ulcer Clinic
  • Travel Advice
  • Well woman
  • COPD Clinic

We provide minor surgery, ante natal shared care, contraceptive and sexual health services.

In addition we have doctors registered to undertake a number of non NHS Services for which we charge including: Aviation medicals, HGV, DVLA, Oil & Gas UK Offshore medicals, Merchant Navy ENG 1 medicals. We are also a registered Yellow fever immunisation centre

  • You do not require any form of certification during the first FOUR DAYS off work.
  • If you are off for up to SEVEN DAYS because you are not well enough to attend work, then you should fill in a self-certificate.
  • Anything OVER SEVEN DAYS means you will need a fit note (doctor's certificate)
